On the e-flat clarinet there’s hardly any difference between French and German playing manner. In Austria and parts of Germany a slim and thin walled corpus is preferred, on French e-flat clarinet and in predominant parts of Germany a thicker corpus (similar to a C clarinet mouthpiece) is favored. This thicker corpus gives a particular comfortable feeling when playing because it is more equivalent to a mouthpiece for Bb clarinet but of course we offer both kinds:

This mouthpiece is very easy to handle, doesn’t require a lot of bottom lip pressure but still goes all the way to the a’’’. To achieve the typical, shining sound of an e-flat clarinet it can be played either with conventional wooden reeds for e-flat clarinet or with shortened Légère/Nick synthetic reeds. This mouthpiece is available for Austrian, German and French e-flat clarinet.
Solist WS € 180,- *
This mouthpiece is created for/with Walter Seyfarth and requires a lot more bottom lip pressure but therefore convinces with its full and deep sound in the high register. It can be played either with shortened wooden reeds for German Bb clarinet (Vandoren Whitemaster) or with Légère/Nick synthetic reeds (German cut). This mouthpiece is available for Austrian, German and French e-flat clarinet.
